Happy New Year!
On new years eve New Yorkers (and anyone else in the Western hemisphere were treated to a blue moon.
Blue moons aren’t all that unusual, occurring every 2 1/2 years or so. But a New Year’s Eve blue moon is somewhat more remarkable — we haven’t had one since 1990!
Well this promises that 2010 is going to be a remarkable year.
After the long holiday its hard to get into the swing of things back at work. So I will keep it light. The talk of the month is new years resolution so here we go I can’t resist……
New Years Resolution # 1 – Boost My PC Boot Time
How to ?
Defrag your PC – You have two options.
- Use the free inbuilt windows defrag tool. To access this tool click on ‘Control Panel’, select ‘Administrative Tools’, select ‘Computer Management‘, Select ‘Disk Defragmenter’ finally select the disc you wish to defrag. NB. Allow plenty of time for completion.
- Defrag Professionally – I used the inbuilt defrag tool for many years until the release of PerfectDisk.This is the only disk defragmenter certified by Microsoft for Windows 7. I would go for this option anytime.

How to ?
You can try out the free tool CCleaner which I often use and always see a remarkable difference. However if you want to say goodbye to PC headaches forever I would recommend System Mechanic.
New Years Resolution #3 - Shop and Bank Privately and Securely

For novice or professionals you need to make sure you are secure and protected online. First things first change your Passwords. Great tip use a password generator like Roboform free of charge.
